Project Description:

Served as Technical Assistant for the 2024 pilot of the AARP & League of American Bicyclists Community Challenge Capacity-Building Microgrant Program. The initiative provided targeted support to five communities across the U.S. to enhance mobility and infrastructure projects with a focus on pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Work on Project:

  • Identified critical pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure gaps through collaborative analysis with local stakeholders.

  • Refined bike audit methodologies to address dangerous intersections and high-risk corridors.

  • Provided scoping support for data collection, ensuring the feasibility of quick-build bicycle improvements and alignment with Complete Streets policies.

  • Delivered educational presentations on federal and private grant opportunities, empowering communities to leverage newly acquired data to secure funding for mobility and infrastructure improvements.

Related Grant Work Related to Pedestrian Master Plan :

  • Supported communities in laying the groundwork for transformative infrastructure projects, enabling safer pedestrian and bicyclist experiences. Helped participants identify grant opportunities and refine project proposals to align with local, state, and federal funding criteria.
