Project Description:

The first-ever Maine State Active Transportation Plan (AT Plan) assesses the current state of active transportation in Maine, sets goals, and outlines an implementation plan to achieve them. It provides a comprehensive guide for state agencies, planning organizations, Tribes, municipalities, and advocacy groups to collaboratively improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other AT users. The plan aims to significantly enhance AT infrastructure and programs for people of all abilities in Maine.

Work on Plan:

  • Acted as senior planning support working with the Bike Coalition of Maine and VHB Project Manager on research, developing policy, and recommendations.

  • Responsible for writing and data analysis in Chapter 3 - Benefits of Active Transportation and Chapter 5 - Existing Conditions.
